Discussion Questions for A Thug's Life

Apology: I read this book a long time ago and can't remember the names of any of the female characters. Hopefully someone can correct this!

1. Dayvon did horrible things to many people, yet was loving and generous to his sister. How can people act in such extreme and contradictory ways?
2. Do you think Dayvon's sister ever felt troubled by taking money from Dayvon that she knew he made through drug dealing and murder? Should this have bothered her?
3. Did you think anything in this book was shocking or upsetting?
4. Why did Dayvon want to go straight? Did he feel guilty about his crimes, or was he just tired of the danger?
5. What did you think of Dayvon's stripper's girlfriend? What were some of her admirable qualities? What were some of her faults?
6. What will happen to Dayvon and his stripper girlfriend? Will they be happy? How will life be for her son? Will Dayvon be faithful, or will be start being sleeping around again?
7. What did you think when Dayvon's Atlanta girlfriend found out she had HIV? Were you surprised that she didn't get it from Dayvon? What do you think will happen to her and the baby?
8. Did you think this book was exciting? Sexy? Gripping?
